The Gift (and the Responsibility) of Discernment
Discernment - the ability of each individual to decide for oneself what feels right for him or her.
So often people
give over the care and responsibility of their spirit over to someone else; a minister or other church leader, the latest
self-help or spiritual guru/teacher, cult leader, healer...you name it. As a spiritual teacher, minister and healer it seems
that I am shooting myself in the foot here, but stick with this. In this role my job is to empower others to think, feel and
determine for themselves what their purpose is and how they are to fulfill it; to guide, encourage, teach and coach. At some
point though the baby bird needs to be released from the nest. If I allow a client or student to become dependent on me, rather
than living their own truth, then I have done a great disservice to that person and to myself.
Now don't
get me wrong; teachers, healers, leaders, even gurus are needed for the development of individuals and humanity as a whole.
Our collective job is help others grow and further themselves. It's what we do. And all of us, no exceptions, are
both students and teachers (whether we know it, admit it or not). Go ahead and learn what you need to learn. Heal what you
need help healing. And above all trust your own inner guidance. If you learn what we teach then you will know when something
doesn't feel right.
A teacher who keeps people restricted (forbidding students to have any other teachers), insists
that all students MUST take EVERY class that they offer or shames/threatens people for any reason is someone best avoided
(and prayed for!). Oh, and if a spiritual leader makes sexual advances toward you, don't walk -RUN- away! Pay attention to
how YOU feel. If you do you will know if the teacher that you have chosen is right for you or not. You will know if that person
is acting in service or ego. Trust that feeling.
The primary thing that I teach in all of my healing and intuition
classes is FOLLOW YOUR GUIDANCE, FOLLOW YOUR GUIDANCE, follow YOUR guidance! You will know when you have learned what you
need to learn. This is the gift of discernment. The responsibility is to decide for yourself where your peace comes from and
where it will take you.

How Autowriting can work for you
Have you ever pondered a question, any question, about your purpose or path or why you're here or what step you should take
next in your life? I have found that autowriting works very well for helping me to determine those answers for myself.
Autowriting is a technique that helps us to get into contact with information that we need to obtain without accessing
the logical thought process. To do it all you need is a piece of paper and a pen/pencil. Ask your question (outloud, silently
or written on the paper all work just fine, I prefer to write it so that I can look back at it later) then poise your pen
on the paper and just let the answer flow through you without regard to spelling, puncuation or sentence structure. I have
been dumbfounded at how well this technique works for me and for clients for whom I have employed autowriting. It's a form
of channeling information and most of the time you will get an answer that you have not thought of previously.
If
you are really stuck and in need of a creative answer try writing with your non-dominant hand. By using your other hand
you access the other side of your brain and can get some really great stuff!
Happy writing all!

Answer to a question
How do you know if someone is sending you energy or how do you know, if you are sending someone energy, that they are receiving
it?
Excellent question!
Usually when energy is being sent both the sender and recipient of the energy
have made an "appointment" for the energy transfer, so both know at that time that the transfer is taking place.
If you are the "receiver" the idea is that you will begin to experience pain relief, relaxation or a change of some
sort which correlates with the reason for the energy to be sent to you in the first place. The recipient, depending on circumstances
and the connection with the sender, may experience an emotional release including laughing or crying or both. Hopefully, the
recipient just feels better!
As the sender it's a bit trickier to determine whether the recipient has actually
received the energy. The sender is likely to be well versed at sending and can sense that the energy has been received. (Of
course the other, and easier, option is to call or email to make sure.)
With other ways of sending energy, other
than distance healing, such as prayer, intention or just nice thoughts the sender may not always know whether or not the recipient
felt the energy...and that's okay too. Not feeling the receipt of the energy does not automatically mean that they didn't
get it.
I hope that answered your question, and please keep the questions coming!

Have we met?
Getting to know your Spirit Guides.
When you are working with, or sense that you are working with, your guides
do you know them? Have you met them either through your own efforts/meditation or by introduction through a third party (a
psychic, teacher, Shaman)?
Our guides will guide us whether we know who they are or not, though I have found it
helpful to have a working relationship with my guides ~ all twelve that I know of. I discovered that once I knew how to contact
my guides and call them by name that I felt more connected to them and felt a more solid communication with them. Sometimes
one or two will come at a time when they are needed, like my healing guide when I am working with a Shah-Ki-Mah client. Sometimes
we have committee meetings (yes you read that right - committee meetings) when I really need to know what to do next or where
to go in my life. When I am doing a reading for someone very often my guide(s) will help me talk with my client's guide(s).
Since the presence of my guides has entered my consciousness my life seems to flow more smoothly, direction is
more clear and I am basically more calm and peaceful...of course, that's when I'm listening.
I hope that you have
a good working relationship with your spirit guides, and I'm happy to help introduce you if you'd like.

What is "Intuition"?
So many people ask how I knew I was psychic, when I discovered it. (I've always known, it seems to run on mom's side of the
family.) They want to know if anybody can do it. "How do people know if they are intuitive?" is probably the most
asked question that I get. The short answer is, yes. Everybody has some sort of intuition. I've discovered that most people
call it a "gut feeling" or "common sense". I suspect we've all known, or at least heard about, someone
who says that they can feel when the whether is going to change. That is a form of intuition that often comes with physical
symptoms.
When you're around somebody and you feel a certain way (be it a positive or a negative feeling) when
ever you're around that person you are experiencing intuition in that you are picking up on their energy. That is a form of
intuition. When you are driving home and get a feeling that you should take a different route, that's a form of intuition
too. The same holds true when you feel like you should call someone, usually someone you don't regularly communicate withlike
an old friend or a distant relative.
These are all examples of "psychic phenomena", the more you pay
attention to them the more you will realize just how often these messages appear to you. Have fun with it, play with it, trust
it. The more you do the more accurate you will become at it.
If you are interested in learning more about your
own psychic abilities check out one of my Intuitive You! classes or workshops...you may just amaze yourself!

Gratitude, a powerful force!
Gratitude is a powerful force! Gratitude has the power to change our lives by enabling us to view our circumstances differently.
Gratitude prompts us to take action when our energy is low and we may have difficulty acting otherwise. Gratitude enables
us to help others even when we have very little ourselves. Sometimes, if we can find one thing to be grateful for in the midst
of hard times, gratitude can save our lives.
It is the foundation on which we can create the lives we envision.
Gratitude is the first building block of manifestation. What we focus on we get more of. If we focus on what we are grateful
for then we are not able to simultaneously focus on what is lacking in our lives.
Today I'm grateful for my
amazing life partner Jon, the support of family and friends, a warm and safe home and a full belly. What are you grateful
for?
Blessings~

I've resisted long enough...
Hello visitors to OSC!
Welcome to our website! I've been putting off blogging for far too long, so here we go...my first
blog.
So first I choose a topic...hhmmm, how about new beginnings. I've been meeting a lot of people lately who
are reinventing themselves, myself included. The re-organizing of the economy, society and the Universe in general has left
a great many of us in the position to rethink what we are doing and how we are doing it.
I'm expanding my business
into another state, or should I say back to the state where I started. In the last five years since I've been in Seattle the
consciousness of humanity has been opening and growing everywhere. I've been lead to enable that process here in the midwest
and looking forward to meeting more people here who are interested in living beyond what they have prior. To live the highest
vision of their own lives. To assist you in opening your consciousness and awareness to Joy, Love and Light.
Looking
forward to working with you!
